NOTE: Once again, a label with two distinct localities! I assume this is from Nantahala Gorge as indicated on the pencilled lower label. Also, Barksdale annoyingly puts the same photo on several different sheets! This photo is of different taxon and also occurs on NCU 278 and NCU 75774 (old B530 and given a new number). Nantahala Gorge has confusing trilliums. I believe both T. simile and T. erectum are intermixed there. This specimen resembles T. simile with elliptic leaves, wide petals, and long stamens. The photo is probably white-flowered T. erectum from the Smokies. - Thomas S. Patrick, 25 February 1985
