This is a stony arroyo, with permanent water and scattered Taxodium, which is bordered by cliffs of volcanic rock. Side canyons, and other areas protected from flooding, have a dense evergreen forest composed of Pisonia, Guazuma, Ficus, and etc. Bordering dry slopes are covered by short tree forest composed of Acacia, Fouquieria, Bursera, Jatropha, and etc.
Common woody vine along the arroyo bottom.
