A railroad (currently used andmaintained), runs almost the entire length. Within 20m on either side of the tracks is almost all herbaceous (weedy but diverse). Further from tracks there are many tamarack trees and shrubs including some autumn olive. 90m SW of railroad tracks 10m east of "W" sign on tracks. Wooded/shrub prairie fen with 10% canopy cover composed of Toxicodendron vernix, Frangula alnus, Betula pumila, and tamarack. Carex and Asteraceae dominant. Heavy browsing in area.
Population - bristly fruits, but not a strong smell.
