At edge of and in pond in 6 inches of water. Very wet, gray-brown sticky clay. Associated with grasses, Typha, Sesbania, composites and other herbs. Perennial herb, 1.2-1.75 m. Spindly upright in clumps. Clonal. Florets inconspicuous, yellow-brown.
