Habitat:
Open woods. Tan sand. Assoc. Liquidambar-Quercus spp.-Pinus taeda complex. With Rhus copallina, Asimina sp., Callicarpa sp., Chionanthus, Sassafras, Crataegus, Pinus echinata, Symplocos. Perennial herb, 20-40 cm. Sprawling, ends upright. Fruit green.
