Habitat: Occasional in bare spot in huisache-invaded pasture on poorly drained slightly saline clay soils on +/- level Nueces River floodplain a foot or two upslope from succulent-dominated salt marsh. Associates include Acacia smallii, Atriplex arenaria, Borrichia frutescens, Buchloe dactyloides, Cynodon dactylon, Leptochloa nealleyi, Opuntia lindheimeri, Panicum maximum, Rayjacksonia phyllocephala, and Spartina spartinae.
Reproductive Condition: flowering + fruiting=mid
