Habitat: Frequent in little bluestem-brownseed paspalum grassland openings in post oak woodland on claypan over Catahoula Formation. Associates include Ambrosia psilostachya, Aristida oligantha, Aster pratensis, Boltonia diffusa, Croton capitatus, Eragrostis spectabilis, Liatris squarrosa, Panicum hians, Paspalum plicatulum, Ruellia humilis, Schizachyrium scoparium and Sorghastrum nutans.
Reproductive Condition: flowering + fruiting=mid
