Habit erect, tufted grass; habitat open ground, roadsides; annual; perennial roots; soil clay; flowers are on terminal spikes; color greenish; odor none; month Oct.-Dec.; leaves are linear, and smoothish, pale green; bark green; roots deep seated. One large colony seen, along the roadside near the resaca. Near old sugar mill.
