Habitat: Common in full sun and in partial shade of hackberry-willow riparian woodland. Associates in wetland area include Acmella oppositifolia, Alternanthera philoxeroides, Ambrosia trifida, Ampelopsis arborea, Boehmeria cylindrica, Campsis radicans, Colocasia esculenta, Eichhornia crassipes, Hydrocotyle verticillata, Iva annua, Mikania scandens, Melia azedarach, Schoenoplectus tabernaemontani, Typha sp., Zizaniopsis miliacea. NPS accession no. SAAN-00304, NPS catalog no. 20039.
Reproductive Condition: flowering + fruiting=mid
