Open woodland on deep, moderately well drained, neutral to slightly acid fine sand (Patilo Series, Grossarenic Paleustalfs), along rutted road on moderate slope underlain by Eocene sand. Area lightly burned during Bastrop Complex Wildfire of September 2011. Associates included Heterotheca subaxillaris, Paspalum plicatulum, P. urvillei, Tridens flavus.
