Large north-south fen; multiple ownser; many arms; large expanses of Carex stricta. Fen elongated and amoeboid with many small armas and large amounts of edge. Oak uplands often inserted intro prairie fen as peninsulas. Oftern large amounts of open water due to beaver flooding. Asjacent to railroad that runs the entire length of the fen. Shrubby area alongside flooded area. Common shrubs include Cornus sericea, C. foemina, Rhamnus alnifolia, Spiraea alba, and Toxicodendron vernix. Larix laricina trees along flooded edge. Also some Dasiphora. Other species include Pycnanthemum virginicum, Lycopus americanus, and abundant Carex stricta.
