Very shrubby lakeside fen. Mostly sedge meadow and wooded fen. Dominant vegetation includes Carex stricta, C. hystericina, Rosa, Frangula alnus, Larix laricina, Toxicodendron vernix, and Symphylotrichum firmum. Invaded by Phalaris arundinacea, Frangula alnus, and Rosa multiflora. Some boggy areas in the northeast. Drosera rotundifolia were found on Sphagnum hummocks in wooded fen. In southern section, ATV or truck activity, in open sedge meadow. Possible hunting site. In most southwestern portion of fen, 20m from shrubby-wooded border underneath Ulmus and Viburnum trees. Area once dominated by Carex, but has heavy shrub encroachment (Cornus, Toxicodendron vernix, Viburnum, Lindera BENZOIN, Rosa multiflora). Ground hummocky and moist. Ant mounds present.
Population - Common, every 1m2. None with fruit or flowers. Browsed.
