Prairie fen with sedge meadow zone common throughout, wooded fen with many tamaracks (Larix laricina); lots of Frangula alnus. Very long, narrow fen. Split by the headwaters of the Grand River. East side owned by The Nature Conservancy, west side mostly privately owned. Grand River is too deep/silty to cross without use of footbridges. Many zones in fen. Periodic shurbby zones; invasives; Phalaris arundinacea common. In arm of prairie fen that ends in shrub zone 5m in all directions; Toxicodendron vernix common in area; Cornus sericea also common; Onoclea sensibilis, Carex stricta, and Carex lasiocarpa common in area with Symphyotrichum puniceum. Ground wet but not inundated and lightly hummocked.
