Locality: Mexico, Veracruz, Mexico: Veracruz. ca 1-1.5 km east of Miradores (del Mar), at km 16.2 east of Xalapa on Federal Highway 140, go south on small road ca 3 km to junction in Rancho Viejo (other road goes to Palmarejo (?) and Barranca de Chivarillo at river), take road toward Pinoltepec (and Corral Falso) ca 1.5 km. Roadside edge of cleared land (planted in citrus; was dry shrub scrub, with remnant Dioon edule); with Salvia spp., Panicum, Spermacoce, Bidens alba, Calyptocarpus vialis, Hybanthus attenuatus, Delilia biflora. Herb ca 0.5 m tall; flowers purple. Lat. 19°26'38"N Long. 96°46'4.7"W Datum: NAD27.
