SE-facing slopes with hot springs; whole slope probably influenced by hot water seepage. Disturbed and with many naturalized exotics, including Arundo donax, Schinus molle, Phoenix canariensis, Washingtonia robusta, Eucalyptus, Bromus rubens, B. diandrus, Scirpus americanus, Eleocharis cf. parishii, Andropogon glomeratus (scarce), Salvia mellifera, Artemisia californica, Festuca myuros, Centaurea melitensis. Moist areas near springs with introduced woody species and marsh species; drier slopes dominated by annuals and native shrubs.
Buds
Common 15-20 m high tree, at least some individuals planted. Bark peeling and trunk smooth. Filaments white. All seeds yellowish. With old frts, still with a few seeds in them.
