Low outcrop ledges in Sabina monosperma - Bouteloua curtipendula, grassland with scattered Pinus edulis & Quercus pungens var. vaseyana; with Desmodium neomexicanum, Vitis arizonica, Ageratina herbacea; 10 ft. shrub; no acorns on branches or ground; relatively common locally.
