Growing in water 0-30 cm deep or soft mud, or some stranded on damp mud among thin stand of Sparganium eurycarpum, the other anigiosperm species extending farthest toward the pond. Ungrazed marshy prairie in. floodplain of river. BER. Abundant tangled growth in a ca. 2 m. wide ring. Mostly under water with long brownish or light green leaves, the tips of some branches emerging and these leaves bright shiny green and thicker.
