Locality: United States, Georgia, Evans, Colony extends for about 0.1 mile along the roadside. 1 mile west of junction of US 280 and GA 169 at Bellville, 0.5 miles outside city limits (9 miles NE of Reidsville).
Habitat: Clump-forming, rhizomatous perennial; flower color exterior bright, lavender-pink, paler within; color varies in intensity. Roadside and edge of open, piney woods, among grasses; well-drained, dryish, sandy soil.
