Locality: United States, California, San Francisco, Mt. Davidson, San Francisco. Elev. ca. 800 ft.
Habitat: Locally common on open E-facing slope. Pinnae light green, paler and duller beneath. Rachis dullish green, shading to red-purple on stipe. Neighbors, mostly herbaceous and now dessicated, included grasses, chiefly Avena, Aira, and Bromus spp., and forbs, notably Achillea, Rumex, and Wyethia.
