(which was a short walk away through the woods on the right), along the road side, and a dirt path on the left near the end of the road where it splits. St. Peter's Wort is commonly found in the Cumberland Plateau. It thrives in wet or moist sandy soils. This specimen is about 12- 14 in. in length. The leaves are opposite. At the tip one will see an umbel inflorescence of yellow flowers.
