Habitat: Hemlock-mixed mesophytic forest; moist soil at back of NNE-trending rockhouse recess; rare. Associates: Dennstaedtia punctilobula, Trichomanes boschianum, Dryopteris intermedia, Arisaema triphyllum, Mitchella repens, Asplenium trichomanes, Lycopodium porophilum.
